I was so surprised one day to find this butterfly hanging out at the hummingbird feeder.
I learned that butterflies are tough. One of our hummingbirds kept trying to run it off, but that butterfly just wouldn’t budge. This butterfly was clearly the one in charge. Considering how much hummingbirds can be bullies, it seemed like karma.
I was also surprised at how long it stayed. It intrigued me to watch the hummingbird and butterfly interact. Eventually the hummingbird just excepted the butterfly and even seemed to relax. Nature really is good medicine. Maybe we can learn something about how to interact with each other.

If only people could learn to get along like that and accept each other despite their differences..
Great post btw, and lovely images 🙂

If we could only watch God’s creatures, we would learn much about getting along in spite of our differences. Love this 🙂

You are so lucky to have such beautiful animals visiting you. I love the native birds we get in the UK, but hummingbirds seem so exotic and magical – I’m very jealous 🙂

I’ve yet to see a butterfly here where I am in the desert.

I found a dead one underneath the car hood the other day, but I don’t know if that was from when I was in North Carolina or somewhere in between there and California. Either way, I’m hoping to see a live one.
