Since November is here and Thanksgiving Day is around the corner, I wanted to share a poem I wrote on being thankful. I hope my poem for Thanksgiving reminds you of what you are thankful for in life. If we look around, we can see why we can be thankful. Sometimes we take certain things for granted. Thanksgiving is a good time to reflect on these things, but I try to be thankful for at least one thing everyday. That is what I wanted to share in my poem about Thanksgiving and about giving thanks.
My Thanksgiving Poem
Can I really be thankful in my world full of strife?
I would have to say yes because I have the gift of life.
I am thankful for eyes to see beauty all around.
And thankful for the ears that let me hear a sound.
I am thankful for the love my husband gives to me.
Thankful that I live in a country that is free.
But I give extra thanks on Thanksgiving Day.
Because I am thankful for the good food coming my way.
If I didn’t have my taste buds, it wouldn’t be the same.
So I give thanks for them and do humbly proclaim.
My thanks to the God of life and Healer of my pain.
Who provides all my good through sunshine and through rain.
