Once again I find myself writing a memorial for a beloved pet this year. I lost my cat Abigail very unexpectedly. I had her since she was a kitten and she was just a little over ten years old. She was the first animal that my husband and me got together. She is greatly missed by us both.

Being Diagnosed with Hereditary Hemochromatosis

I was recently diagnosed with Hereditary Hemochromatosis. This means that my body absorbs too much iron. This can cause a host of problems like organ failure especially if it’s not caught early.  I had never even heard of it before, but after reading about it found out it is not always easily diagnosed. Remembering the Chicken who Changed my Life

I knew the day was coming when I would have to say good-bye to my original hen Buster, but I was hoping I had more time. She was eight plus years old. I think she lived a good life. How I Felt After 30 Days of Paleo

I never thought that I would try a Paleo diet. However, I heard that it could be a good anti-inflammatory diet. I suffer with major digestive issues and chronic pain. I was optimistic about feeling better and getting rid of my daily bloating. The results were not what I had hoped they would be. Continue reading

Being Active Throughout the Day

I spent the last year trying to stay as active as I could in between dealing with physical limitations due to overall chronic pain along with back and neck issues. I am still not where I want to be in terms of strength and a toned body, but I most certainly have made progress. This year I want to focus on doing bursts of activity throughout the day to stay active and to sit less. Continue reading
